Harold Ramis

I was greatly saddened to hear of the passing of great director Harold Ramis this week.  I felt especially honored that Slate asked me to do an article remembering him, and that International Business Week ran a piece encapsulating comments I made on the Reddit AMA I did Monday (scheduled last week before the unexpected passing of Harold).

        I’d love top see that photo! I’ve been back in Memphis since 95, writing/producing video projects & some live shows, still doing the occasional music supervision gig. Haven’t been playing for several years. My twins are 19, at Loyola New Orleans, passionate singers-songwriters-producers. How are Ann & your kids doing?

    Wonderful piece in Slate. Groundhog Day is one of my favorite films (including your performance) and I think it’s an underrated /underappreciated gem on many levels. I’m a little surprised at how deeply bummed out I am at the loss of Harold Ramis. Thanks for your remembrance and observation.

    I know I am simply reiterating what has already been said here, but thank you for writing such a kind and thoughtful remembrance of Harold Ramis for Slate.

    Judd Apatow said of Ramis “He literally made every single one of our favorite movies” a sentiment I completely agree with. Your insights into Ramis while making one of those films was about as fitting a tribute as one could imagine. Thanks.

      It’s true. Caddyshack is still a must see when it comes on as is Vacation. Harold’s comedy is in the two shot is even in Bill and the gopher and Bill looking at the old ladies in golf skirts…it is all about relationship.
