Though I’ve followed your career for many years. This is my first introduction to your writing. I also read the piece about 7th grade basketball at JW Carpenter. Since I went there also (TW Browne and JF Kimball as well), the description of Coach Hester held particular meaning. I live in Santa Barbara now.
Your brother was a great natural athlete. He seemed to just glide on the court.
